Grammy-winning Nigerian music star Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has revealed that he sees himself as a “boring” person, despite his global fame and success.
The singer made the revelation during a recent episode of the Close Friends Only Speed Round, where he appeared alongside fellow Afrobeats star Asake. During the conversation, Wizkid explained that celebrities are just regular people who live normal lives away from the spotlight — even if those routines may appear unexciting to fans.
When asked by Asake to share an interesting fact many people don’t know about him, Wizkid responded candidly. According to the singer, his daily life is far from glamorous. He said he wakes up as early as 6:30 a.m. and personally takes his children to school, adding that fame does not change the reality of everyday responsibilities.
“We are normal human beings too,” Wizkid said, emphasizing that celebrity life is not always about luxury and excitement.
Speaking further, the “Essence” crooner revealed the three most important things in his life: his daughter Morayo, music, and God. He noted that these priorities keep him grounded amid his career achievements.
Wizkid also shared his thoughts on longevity in the music industry. According to him, staying authentic, making smart and strategic collaborations, and putting in consistent hard work are key factors for sustaining a long and successful music career.
