“I Don’t Want My Kids to Call Me Illiterate” — Portable Opens Up on Why He’s Returning to School

Controversial Nigerian street pop star, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has revealed that he is ready to return to school to complete his education.

In a recent video shared on his Instagram page, the singer spoke passionately about the importance of balancing fame with education and professionalism.

Portable, who already holds an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) from Kwara State Polytechnic, said his decision to further his studies comes from a desire to better manage his career and set a good example for his children.

“I wan go back to school. I want to finish my education. I dey sponsor people’s children and my own children too. I don’t want my children to be mocked that their father is illiterate,” he said.

The Zazu Zeh crooner admitted that he never collected his OND certificate after completing the program, but now feels it’s time to make things right.

“I didn’t collect the certificate for the ND programme that I did in Kwara State Polytechnic. But as I don make am now, I wan go back to school. So that I will be able to manage my music career better, and it will also help in my dealing with people,” Portable added.

Portable’s revelation has sparked mixed reactions online, with many fans applauding his decision to prioritize education despite his fame and success in the music industry.
